Mini Fashion Haul: Forever 21

No matter how much I try to deny it, Fall has arrived! Its time to break out the leathers and trench coats, the sweaters and hoodies! Put those sandals and flip flops away and dust off the boots! I am very excited to get cracking on my fall and winter boot collection, which was the goal for today’s shopping trip.  Having been so wrapped up in the warm, beautiful weather of the summer, I completely forgot to get shoes for the fall! I was in desperate need of a chic boot for the beginning of this transition! I also needed a good fall jacket. I am still looking for another black full leather jacket but the one I bought today should suffice for now! I also bought a new blazer and some cute accessories!

OK let’s talk about these boots! I fall in love with them more and more every time I look at them.  I was actually looking for some Isabel Marant sneaker look-a-likes to do a post on but then I came across these lace-up wedge booties. The lace-up part is super cute and are my first lace-up boots of the year! Unintentionally I seem to always buy a pair of lace-up boots every fall, weird I know. The lace up really keeps your foot and ankle in place when laced to the top.  While the wedge part is a mock wood, the bottom of the shoes are rubber so there is no click-clack noise when you walk L.  I absolutely love these shoes though!

I was really excited to get this jacket! This Moto Jacket has ribbed trimmed sleeves and a detachable hood. The zipper pockets are pretty small but other than that I really love this jacket.  The knit sleeves do a good job of keeping your arms warm. The hood isn’t as stretchy as other hoodies I have, but it still fits comfortably over the head and is a good.

Now this blazer is growing on me. The pictures came out horribly so that doesn’t help. The inside of the blazer is lines with light pink polka dots. I like the blazer on more than when it’s hanging. It is a short blazer so it stops right at my waist, which looks really cute. I bought this to replace a previous black blazer that I lost during my move.

Both the Dangling Spike Earrings and the Silver Bow Necklace are super cute! Just wanted to pick up another small necklace. The earrings are a change from the studs I’ve wore all summer. Don't get me wrong I love my studs, but if you remember I also like big earrings, hoops, and dangling ones! Think I will aim for more dangling earrings this season.

This shopping trip was short and sweet! I went in knowing what I wanted and came out with even more than I planned to! SUCESS! I find that always happens at Forever 21. I go in knowing exactly what I am looking for and stumble upon even more goodies!

Cinderella's Louboutin

Christian Louboutin has out done himself this time! He has put his signature red sole on a very famous, fabulous, shoe!

The fabulous designer joined forces with Disney to create a modern version of Cinderella’s glass slipper, which was unveiled in Paris in July. The shoe was designer in honor of the release of Disney’s Cinderella Diamond Edition on Blu-Ray and DVD.

"Cinderella is not only an iconic character when it comes to beauty, grace and fairytale love, but also shoes," the designer said in a statement. "Her character and her story dictated the design to me, it was all there in the pages and the words of this tale."

The new shoe is not made of glass, but instead Louboutin’s design is made of white lace with sparkling butterflies, and Swarovski crystals throughout. Only 20 pairs of the shoes are being released.

But Louboutin isn’t the only one that has been hit with fairy dust!  This November Harrods* will unveil its Christmas windows showcasing couture incarnations of classic Disney Princess dresses by some of our favorite designers like Valentino, Versace and Osc de la Renta.

"The enchanting stories of our Disney Princesses are timeless and continue to inspire girls and women across generations," said Anna Hill, Chief Marketing Officer of The Walt Disney Company UK & Ireland.

Africa meets Spring

As I was doing my daily R29 reading something caught my eye, African inspired jewelry. Of course there already is plethora of African inspired jewelry floating around in the world of fashion, but these piece were something different, beautiful and unique.

When you think of words like glass, bone, or brass, you don't usually think of jewelry right? Well thanks to KORA, that will soon change my friend. This line of jewelry combines those elements with aluminum, hone and recycled materials to make gorgeous bangles, bracelets, rings and necklaces. This is the perfect spring line to look into for accessories.
While the prices go no lower than 3 digits, I believe the cost is well within reason considering the unique materials used.
I completely and totally recommend you to at least check out the site...I promise you will fall in love!

Enjoy beauties!!

OOTN : ILLAMERICA Launch Party

On Jan. 28th of this year I attended the ILLROOTS launch party for their new clothing line ILLAMERICA. I went along with a few girls friends and had a blast! My best friend Ebony and I are always dressed to impress, so I figured I would do a sort of OOTD(night in this case) to show off just how simple but gorgeous we looked! :)  Most of the attendees were in very causal dress ( jeans, t-shirt, hoodie, a few leather jackets here and there, etc), but we came in wearing this!
That is Ebony to the left and me to the right.

Ebony is wearing a dress from Forever 21. It is a fitted, animal print dress in black and white as you can see. If I remember right I think there is a little bit of a scoop in the back. This is a great dress for girlies with curves! Eb has a nice round curve on her backside(lol); this dress definitely flatters it! She also has great hips that this dress hugs nicely.

Her accessories were very simple, its best to keep accessories simple with a dress like this. The dress already has so much going on, that too many accessories can really pull away from it. For Eb's accessories she wore just a small pair of earrings and a bracelet. She later put on her favorite pair of glasses. These arent your ordinary pair of prescription glasses, they are jazzy glasses!

They are a pair of nerdy, cheetah print glasses that she jazzed up with a gold chain. Check out her blog to see these "sexy grandma glasses" as I like to call them lol.

As for me, my outfit had a little more going on. Mostly because my dress was very simple, I added more accessories to make my outfit sparkle lol. I wore my tan, shoulder strap dress I bought from Akira. This was the second time I wore this dress so I tried something different this time around. Instead of wearing the shoulder strap, I tucked it down inside of the dress to make it look strapless. A little bit of the mesh part popped out at the boob area but I sort of liked that! I added a studded jean jacket that I borrowed from Eb (I plan on stealing it from her because I love it so much!).

For accessories, I wore some oversized flower stud earrings, a four tear neckless, and my gold feather ring. All of my accessories are from Forever 21.

As far as shoes go, I wore my light pink, peep toe pumps from AGACI. They look a little oversized in the picture but they fit just fine!  Eb wore a pair of black boots from Urban Outfitters.

Catch ya later beauties! :)
